Indonesia’s Ministry of Manpower is promoting full employment access for persons with disabilities, Minister Ida Fauziyah said in a written statement issued on February 2.
She explained that the government has been encouraging vocational training so that people with disabilities have an alternative means to obtain competent certification.
“This should also be an option for persons with disabilities to receive the appropriate standard through competency certification,” she said.
Concerning the G20 agenda, the ministry prioritizes inclusivity in the workforce sector, she highlighted while receiving representatives from the National Commission on Disabilities (KDN).
She added that an inclusive workforce should be a concern for advanced nations and developing nations.
“We want to become a benchmark for other nations in that the issue of inclusivity for people with disabilities is a priority issue. We believe that this will be expedited if we bring it up during the G20 meetings,” Fauziyah remarked.
“This is what we should build the attention to from the regional governments, not just the ULD program, but also other manpower programs supported by the central government,” she said
