Brazil’s Jacques wins first athletics medal at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics

Brazil’s Yeltsin Jacques has won the first medal in the athletics at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games, crossing the line in a time of 15:13.62 for gold in the men’s 5,000m T11.

Jacques has set a new area record to claim gold in the men’s T11 5,000m!

Flanked by guides Laurindo Nunes Neto and Carlos Antonio dos Santos, he finishes in 15min 13.62sec, defeating Japanese stars Kenya Karasawa and Shinya Wada.
