Chennai, India –  The Madras high court has ordered notice to the state government on a Public Interest litigation (PIL) moved by two associations for people with vision disabilities seeking strict implementation of 4% reservation for people with disabilities for employment in government-aided educational institutions.

Admitting the plea, a division bench of Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice N Seshasayee directed the state to respond to the PIL in eight weeks.

The plea has been moved by the College Students and Graduates Association of the Blind and the All India Confederation of the Blind.
