The ‘No borders’ centre offers classes for children with disabilities through various rehabilitation programs, project organisers report. Currently, more than 200 children with disabilities are involved in the programme. The rehabilitation course can be taken at the Volgograd Academy of Physical Culture, as well as at home, using video lessons on YouTube.
The No borders centre was opened at the Volgograd Academy of Physical Culture thanks to the financial help of the Charity Initiative for Families of Russian Athletes ‘Play and Help’ and the Presidential Grants Fund. Various rehabilitation programs are designed for children with cerebral palsy, damage to the musculoskeletal system, Down syndrome, autism, mental retardation, impaired intelligence, somatic diseases, and speech impairment.
Lectures are conducted by professionals of the highest class – professors and doctors of sciences. The content of the programs is adjusted depending on the age of the children and the nature of their disability.
For those who can’t attend classes, the Center has launched its own educational channel on YouTube, where exercises for children with various disabilities are broadcast. From these video lessons people can learn effective and affordable exercises for their child, get some professional tips how to captivate and keep the interest of children with spacial needs in performing exercises.
