The Non-profit organisation of social services for the population “Support”,  is implementing a project “Long-term care: saving the soul” in Volgograd, reports the Social Information Agency. Within the framework of the project, the help of a psychologist can be provided to people with disabilities, elderly people, bedridden patients, as well as their relatives, who often also have psychological problems, as they get tired physically and emotionally.

The project “Long-term care: saving the soul” is being implemented in the several  central districts of Volgograd. Its participants are elderly, people with limited mobility, bedridden patients, many of whom have disabilities. They are visited several times a week by a social worker and provides assistance in caring, buying food, cooking, cleaning  rooms. Since August, psychological support has been added to these services.

The psychologist consults at home. In the future, it is planned to conduct individual consultations with a psychologist at the offices of “Support”. In the future, it is planned to organise the work of mutual assistance groups, where people will be able to share their experiences, stories and problems and thereby help each other.
