Leonard Cheshire is hosting a webinar to explore how assistive technology has supported persons with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Entitled ‘Changing perceptions, challenges, and opportunities around assistive technology for people with disabilities during the pandemic,’ the webinar will take place on Friday 30 October at 2 pm.

Leonard Cheshire’s director of assistive technology, Steve Tyler, will be sitting down for a ‘fireside chat’ with Charlotte Vuyiswa McClain-Nhlapo, a senior disability adviser at the World Bank Group.

During the webinar, they will discuss how assistive technology supports people with disabilities to upskill and engage in employment. The online session will also cover the importance of guiding technological development, so accessibility does not slow or rollback.

Furthermore, the national disability charity’s webinar will explore how enhanced technology can enable an ongoing inclusive response to COVID-19 and influence the post-pandemic recovery to ensure the global ‘build back better’ agenda is fully inclusive.
