The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) will review Qatar, Sri Lanka, Lithuania, Chile, and Slovakia in its latest session from 12 to 27 August 2026.
The five countries are among the 193 States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. They are required to undergo regular reviews by the Committee of 18 independent international experts on how they are implementing the Convention and the Committee’s previous recommendations.
The CRPD, which has received respective country reports as well as other submissions from non-governmental organisations, will discuss a range of issues with the five State delegations through public dialogues on the following dates at Geneva time.

The above public dialogues will be held in TEMPUS conference facility at Palais des Nations, Geneva.
Besides country reviews, the Committee will also discuss its latest draft General Comments (guidance to States on interpreting and implementing the Convention) regarding Article 11 on protection of people with disabilities during armed conflicts and humanitarian emergencies, and Article 29 on the right to participate in political and public life. It will also discuss guidelines on intersectional discrimination against women and girls with disabilities, and guidelines on disability-based violence.
