The Directorate of Disability of the Municipality of General Pueyrredon has launched a telephone number for people who are deaf and hard of hearing, in order to answer questions and queries regarding coronavirus pandemic.

Marcos Folgar has explained that people with hearing disabilities who wish to communicate can send text messages or whatsapp to the number 2235425908. The hours of operation will be from Monday to Friday from 8 to 15.

“We are very happy with this small step that we have taken towards a more inclusive communication” said Folgar, who recalled that “in these difficult times that we are living, and due to the mandatory social isolation dictated by the national government, the office is not attending to the public in person, but we are doing everything possible to achieve ever more fluid communication channels with the community.”

“Our idea is, little by little, to expand communication channels with all people and in relation to all issues related to disability,” he added.

On the other hand, the official announced that “very soon we will begin with the evaluation boards in a virtual way for people who have applied for the Unique Certificate of disability for the first time. As we move forward with this topic, we will inform.
