The Jakarta Provincial Government took a step toward inclusive education by launching a new fleet of 32 accessible school buses on Wednesday.

Governor Pramono Anung unveiled the vehicles at City Hall, emphasizing the city’s commitment to ensuring that students with disabilities have safe and reliable transportation to school.

“The Jakarta provincial government is once again launching disability-friendly school transportation. We are deploying 32 buses that will serve five new routes and add to five routes that already existed,” said Governor Pramono Anung.

The program is part of efforts to ensure the right to education for all children, including persons with disabilities.

The Transportation Office confirmed that these buses will service five new routes, specifically targeting areas with high concentrations of Special Needs Schools (SLB).

“As a global city, Jakarta must be disabled-friendly,” Governor said. “These facilities are not just vehicles; they are tools to help our children achieve their dreams.” The initiative is part of a broader School Transport Service program that currently serves over 41,000 students daily.
