Persons with disabilities vaccinated against coronavirus in Costa Rica

The National Council of People with Disabilities (Conapdis) reported that 28 people with disabilities were vaccinated against COVID-19 in the North Zone.

As reported by the Director of the Huetar Norte del Conapdis regional headquarters, Evelyn Arce Rojas, on January 13, the vaccination against COVID19-19 began for 28 people who were users of two residential alternatives in the canton of San Carlos. Furthermore, it will extend vaccination to other cantons in the region.

The institution communicated these steps with the Health authorities to include people with disabilities and their caregivers in the priority groups for vaccination.

The request emphasizes giving priority to the 755 people with disabilities who reside in the 52 long-stay homes throughout the country and the 388 working people who are caregivers for them.
