Moira Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest for suitably qualified members of the community to join the All Abilities Advisory Committee.

Mayor Libro Mustica said Council was committed to working with the community on a range of issues that were relevant to the quality of life and the vision for health and wellbeing in the shire.

“The All Abilities Advisory Committee (AAAC) will advise Council on how to improve access and inclusion for people of all abilities in the Moira Shire community,” Cr Mustica said.

“The Committee will meet four times per year and be a valuable resource assisting Council in working towards a number of strategic goals including – enabling people of all abilities to actively participate, socialise and have fun in the community and contribute to local decision making; provide accessible services and information, responsive to the needs of people with a disability, their families and carers; and actively promote the importance of inclusion for all.”

Cr Mustica said committee members must have a strong connection to the local community and live, work, study in, or regularly visit Moira Shire.

Submissions close Thursday 30 June.
