Google will soon be rolling out a solution for reaching out to emergency services for those who cannot speak or hear.

After dialing 911, a user will be able to select the type of emergency, either “Medical”, “Fire” or “Police”. An automated voice will then communicate this information to the emergency dispatch professional. The phone will also transmit the user’s location using GPS. The user can also speak to the dispatch professional if they can.

The emergency service will roll out in the coming months on Google Pixel’s smartphone devices and additional selected devices, the list of which has not yet been disclosed.
