Railway introduces braille signages at CSMT in Mumbai

Braille signages at various points at the CSMT station

The Central Railways’ Mumbai division has introduced braille signages at various points at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) station in Mumbai.

“Braille map of CSMT station indicating platforms, offices, toilets, entry, exits, waiting rooms, etc., is provided at the entry point of Star Chamber booking office,” according to the Central Railway press release.

Braille signages will help people who are blind or have low vision to find out information and location of various facilities at CSMT station.

“Ensuring Accessibility For All: Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus has been made more accessible for visually-impaired with installation of braille signages at key locations. This will help divyaang passengers to navigate the station with ease.” Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal tweeted.

“This initiative has been started with Yatra For Business, the corporate business arm of Yatra Online Private Limited, in association with Anuprayaas.” Central Railway said in a release.
