South Korean logistics giant CJ Logistics announced that it will launch a new service that will offer employment to people with hearing disabilities.
As part of its creating shared value (CSV) initiative, the company plans to launch the ‘Blue Parcel Delivery Service,’ in which a person with hearing disability will deliver parcels from distribution bases within apartment complexes to the customer’s door.
This service will be available first at an apartment complex of about 2,100 households located in Yeonsu District, Incheon.
Five workers who are deaf and hard of hearing delivery will be responsible for managing two buildings and delivering about 150 parcels on average per day.
“We established a stable system through a trial operation of delivering 100,000 parcels from July 2020,” said CJ Logistics.
