The Almeria Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities (FAAM) provided training under the project “Social and Labor Insertion and Active Entrepreneurship” designed to qualify a total of fifty unemployed people with disabilities for active job search and job entrepreneurship.

The training sessions have been the pillar of this project that has also been based on the promotion of self-esteem. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the sessions had to adapt due to the confinement and were carried out online.

The FAAM training room has been the place chosen to carry out the project in person, and the training sessions have lasted between 60 and 90 minutes and have been a meeting point for people with the same concerns and aspirations.

After the end of the project, some of the participants have enrolled in courses to continue training and thus improve their future job placement; others have participated in the EPES program that FAAM executes by carrying out professional internships in companies in different sectors.

The subsidy has executed this project from 0.7% of personal income tax from the Ministry of Equality and Social Policies of the Junta de Andalucía managed by Andalucía Inclusiva COCEMFE. The Confederation manages this grant so that its member entities can finance their priority projects while providing them with advice and monitoring during their preparation, execution, and justification. In this case, the project is part of the COCEMFE Inclusive Andalusia Program for “Social and Labor Insertion and Entrepreneurship-ActivaT”.
