Eight accessible electric buses, intended for the elderly and people with disabilities, will put the Municipality of Talca into service. The initiative will allow free travel and will have access ramps, reserved spaces for wheelchairs and preferential seats.

“This is great news for older adults and people with reduced mobility. The eight electric buses arrived to transport all our neighbors for free. The last week of November we will start making tours so that our neighbors can get to know the system ”, announced the mayor of Talca, Juan Carlos Díaz.

He explained that there will be a bus for each territory. “We divide the city into eight sectors and there will be a bus with a monitor. So we will work with assistants and taking all precautionary measures ”.

Díaz stressed that electromobility and clean energy are a priority for the Maulino municipality. So much so that – he indicated – through funds provided by the Ministry of Social Development, the municipality acquired the buses that will benefit, mainly, the 37,571 older adults and the more than 12,000 people with disabilities.

The communal head of Talca stressed that residents will be able to access health centers, do paperwork and travel to the city center at defined times and with all comfort.
