Russia’s Ministry of Labor to provide phones with navigator and video calling for free

Russia’s Ministry of Labor has updated rules that will allow people with disabilities to get free mobile phones and free video calls, according to the Ministry’s press service. 

The Russian government has expanded the federal list of rehabilitation measures and technical means of rehabilitation and services provided to people with disabilities.

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the corresponding decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 872-p. Telephone devices supplement clause 19 of the list, with the function of video communication and navigation.

People with hearing disabilities were provided with only text phones, now they will be able to receive phones with navigators and a video communication function for free – explained the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Anton Kotyakov.
