In Russia, social taxi service will start soon

The social taxi service “Deafmobile” will start operating in Ufa, Russia, from July 1st, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Bashkortostan reports. The social taxi will work seven days a week.

The social taxi service “Deafmobile” is a project of the regional organization “All-Russian Society of the Deaf” in Belarus. Drivers with hearing disabilities and a sign language dispatcher-translator will be involved in it.

It will serve people with disabilities and children with disabilities, as well as their companions. They will be able to use taxi services free of charge five times a month. Trips will be made within the city of Ufa.

“More than 9,000 people with disabilities and children with disabilities live in Ufa,” said the Ministry of Labor. “the social project aims to increase the transport accessibility for people with disabilities, which will invariably affect the quality of services received.”

The dispatcher will accept service requests from 9:00 to 18:00 on business days, and Deafmobile drivers will leave on daily orders without breaks and weekends from 7:00 to 22:00. Social taxi channels will be announced shortly.
