The Cook Labor Government is building the leadership capability of Western Australians with disabilities and those working in the disability sector with a $230,000 grant to Leadership WA.

  • $230,000 grant to Leadership WA to continue delivering the LeadAbility Course
  • LeadAbility builds the long-term leadership skills of people with disability and disability sector workers
  • LeadAbility aligns with the State Disability Strategy 2020-2030

The grant will assist Leadership WA to deliver the LeadAbility Course until the end of 2026.

Since its inception, LeadAbility has been building the long-term leadership skills of people with disability and disability sector workers, with more than 272 Western Australians successfully graduating.

The seven-day entry-level course is conducted across three months, and includes dynamic activities focusing on understanding leadership, growing confidence, effective communication, teamwork, and community.

The Course is supported by the Department of Communities and aligns with the State Disability Strategy 2020-2030, which sets the foundation for building a more inclusive WA by empowering people with disability to participate meaningfully in all parts of society, including employment.
