More buses added to the Social Taxi service in Moscow

The Moscow Social Taxi service continues to grow: 11 more buses were added to its fleet. New buses are intended for collective transportation and are fitted with special equipment for wheelchair lifting and transportation, handrails, air conditioning and comfortable 11 seats, two of them are for passengers with wheelchairs.

Over the past year, the Social Taxi service has transported more than 260 thousand passengers with disabilities. Today this number continues to grow. The Moscow Social Taxi fleet consists of 163 modern buses, minibuses and passenger cars. Each vehicle has its own special equipment for a comfortable and safe trip – ramps, lifts, locking devices, video surveillance cameras, driver call buttons, places for a guide dogs and a climate control system. Besides, all the drivers are trained on working with passengers with disabilities.

The main advantage of the Social Taxi service is its working hours: it works seven days a week from 08:00 until 20:00. Moscow citizens can always order a taxi on Mosgortrans website or use a single telephone line. The Social Taxi service helps passengers with disabilities to get to the most important social places – medical and educational institutions, airports, train stations as well as excursions. Furthermore, this service carries out individual and collective transportation of people with disabilities.

We are constantly striving to create the transport mobility for everyone. That is why we pay great attention to the Social Taxi service. We have launched 11 more buses to the Social Taxi fleet. Now the service has 163 buses. They have everything for convenient and safe collective transportation of passengers with disabilities. Over the past year, the Social Taxi service has transported more than 260 thousand passengers and this numbers continues to grow», – said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
