The Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities has announced the launch of the fourth edition of its summer program on July 1 under the slogan Our Summer is Safe at Home, through its online platform for all persons with disabilities in Qatar.

The summer program will last for a month and will take place four days a week.

The program aims to raise the level of societal awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and their right to participate in summer activities by implementing targeted activities that they can acquire skills from.

They will be split into different age and diagnostic groups for their benefit and to develop their capabilities within an open environment that is less restrictive and more vital.

Executive Director of the Shafallah Centre, Laalei Abu Alfain, explained that the online platform for the program will serve for the first time all persons with disabilities in Qatar without exception.

A multidisciplinary team of the centres staff will supervise and follow up on the implementation of the program by communicating with people with disabilities and their parents through the Microsoft Teams program, she added.
