As the federal government has put money back into Canadians pockets during the COVID-19 pandemic, persons with disabilities are still waiting for help.

In the House of Commons today NDP MP Heather McPherson, Edmonton-Strathcona, called out the Liberals for failing to help those with disabilities, 660citynews reported.

“Millions of people impacted by COVID-19 have been forgotten by this government,” McPherson said.

“People living with disabilities, are now facing new challenges and increased costs just to survive. It’s been 12 weeks since this pandemic began and five weeks since this house unanimously passed our motion to act ‘without delay.’ But the government has still done nothing to provide the support they need.”

“People living with disabilities don’t need more talk – they need action. This government has repeatedly acknowledged the need and still hasn’t delivered on their promise.”
