Respecting health provisions in the framework of the pandemic, La Esperanza Civil Association of Bariloche, continue its activity during preventive isolation, receiving boys and young people with different types of disabilities.
La Esperanza has been working for more than 20 years receiving young people with different types of disabilities, such as generalized development disorders, autism, psychosis, schizophrenia and mental retardation.
“During the year, we have 20 people in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. At the moment, and because of the isolation, only nine people attend in the morning and five in the afternoon, many have been coming since 1997, “said María Fernanda Alderete, from the institution.
Her work is essential in these moments when everything is difficult, but always with the aim of moving forward. “We have a multi-sensory room where 16 professional therapists work, receiving children four hours a day. We have psychologists, social workers, pool and gym teachers, therapists and psychomotrisists. The work is difficult with this reality, but we are continuing “, he explained.
La Esperanza receives the support of the Provincial Government, through the Ministry of Human Development and Solidarity Articulation, but also has a partner system. “After 20 years, we have our own place, which we plan to continue expanding. We have many projects, many dreams. The kids are wonderful from any side that you look at them; and for me it is impossible to leave the association, it fills my soul. The kids give a lot of love, they give healing hugs, “said Alderete. (Press Government of Río Negro).
