Indian state issues guidelines for protection and safety of persons with disabilities

Haryana government issued guidelines for adoption of preventive measures to contain the spread of coronavirus outbreak, especially regarding the protection and safety of persons with disabilities during the ongoing pandemic, an official spokesman announced on Saturday.

“The state government has directed all the Administrative Secretaries, all the Heads of Departments, Commissioners of all Divisions, the Registrar of Punjab and Haryana High Court, all the Deputy Commissioners, all the Managing Directors and Chief Administrators of Boards and Corporations and the Registrars of all the Universities in Haryana to exempt the persons with severe disabilities from attending office during the ongoing lockdown.” said the state government spokesperson.

He said that all the Heads of Departments or Heads of offices are directed to ensure that while drawing up roster of staff, the employees who are persons with severe disabilities may not be called for duty.
