Disability Services Minister Stephen Dawson has today launched a website that will support the Western Australian disability sector to continue providing high-quality and safe services and minimise disruption for people with disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Jobs in WA Disability Services website has been established by National Disability Services WA (NDS), with funding from the Department of Communities, to enable job seekers and employers across the State to efficiently provide employment opportunities in the disability sector.
The website is intended to reduce the time and effort required to apply for jobs in the disability sector and to shortlist job seekers.
Appropriately skilled workers whose employment has been impacted as a result of COVID-19 will be able to make themselves known to employers needing additional staff during the pandemic.
Disability service providers and individuals who self-manage their individualised plan can use the website to search for and employ suitable staff.
Job seekers with experience working in customer facing roles, including in the disability, community or health sectors can go to www.studium.work to register their interest in working in the disability sector.
“There will be many people seeking work at this time who have experience in the health and community service sectors whose skills and values will be welcomed by the disability sector” said Stephen Dawson, Disability Service Minister.
“The disability sector in Western Australia offers a wide variety of meaningful jobs and valued careers for job seekers who have the right values and approach, focused on supporting people with disability to achieve their goals and meet their specific daily living needs.”
