Australians with disabilities will benefit from new funding after the opening of a grant round which will offer up to $85 million to organisations across the country.
Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), Stuart Robert, announced applications are open for a new grant round under the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program.
‘ILC programs are designed to complement each other to ensure people with disability are getting the best opportunity to participate in their communities,’ Minister Robert said.
‘This new grant round focuses on Individual Capacity Building to enable people with disabilities, as well as their carers and families, to build their skills through access to peer support and mentoring.’
The grant round will focus on organisations run by and for people with disabilities, carers and families as well as organisations that seek to improve the outcomes for specific communities – such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.
Applications are now open to all Disabled Peoples Organisations and Families Organisations and will close on April 22. Successful recipients are expected to be announced in July 2020.
