Disability Legislations and Policies
The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability was made enforceable in the Principality by sovereign order on 2 November 2017. It means creating architecture with larger corridors and staircases, access ramps and elevators. Any building project or work on an existing building must incorporate standards that will allow access for people with disabilities.
Legal framework and policies:
The country is governed by a sovereign prince, and legislative acts are conducted by the prince and the popularly elected National Council. There is no governmental or societal discrimination against person with disabilities. The Government mandated that public buildings provide access for persons with disabilities, and this goal has been largely accomplished.
