Disability Legislations and Policies

Lithuania ratified the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in 2010. There were more than 250,000 persons with disabilities in Lithuania, and the country was consistently moving from a medical disability assessment towards a bio-psycho-social model. In 2014, the Government had conducted a survey on the situation of women with disabilities, highlighting challenges they faced in different areas. Legal framework and policies:
The main document, which protects Lithuanian disabled person’s interests, is well-built legal base called, “Lithuanian Republic disabled person’s social integration law’’. This law make chances to objectively evaluate person’s ability to work, get necessary medical, professional and social rehabilitation services and payments.
