Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD):
Ratified on November 30tt, 2011. It submitted it’s first State Party report to the Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights (OHCHR) on January 3, 2017. The report can be read here – http://tbinternet.ohchr.org

Law on Disability (8/2016):
The Law on Disabilities (No. 8/2016) replaces the previous disability law (No. 4) of 1997 concerning persons with disabilities. Based on the spirit of the UNCRPD, the new aw views people with disabilities as equal members of society and talks about human rights, accessibility and employment. While Indonesia has ratified the CRPD and now has a new law based on the spirit of the convention, not all places within the country are accessible. A few organizations and companies are now focusing on accessible travel and are listed below:

GrabGerak:
Grab, a Southeast Asian ride hailing company teamed up with Rexona, a unilever deodorant brand to launch ‘GrabGerak’ a transportation service for people with disabilities in the Greater Jakarta area. Rexona also launched Gerak, a mobile application that enables users with disabilities to discover accessible places and book a Grabgerak service to get there. Difa Tour and Travel (Yogyakarta):
A motorcycle taxi service in Yogyakarta hires only disabled drivers and caters to passengers with disabilities. The company is locally known as Difa-Jek.
Transjakarta corridor for the blind:
Transjakarta is a bus rapid transit system in Jakarta and was the first BRT system in South Asia. Started in 2004, the system aimed to be accessible for people with vision disabilities.
Transjakarta Care:
The Public Transportation provider in Jakarta Transjakarta introduced many low-entry buses into its fleet to make its service accessible for persons with disabilities. It was also reported that older persons and people with disabilities can ride the TransJakarta buses for free.
