Disability Legislations and Policies
CRPD – In July 2009 Denmark ratified the CRPD and the Danish Institute for Human Rights was appointed by the Danish Parliament to promote and monitor the implementation of the CRPD in Denmark. To this end the Institute has engaged in a project which aims at identifying a set of 10 gold statistical outcome indicators to measure the implementation of the CRPD with Disabilities in Denmark.
Today the objective of Danish disability policy is equalization of opportunities. This objective is the outcome of a development process that has resulted in people with disabilities no longer being placed in special institutions. They are, to an increasing extent, integrated in society.
In 1993 the Danish parliament adopted “B 43, Folketingsbeslutning om ligestillingogligebehandlingafhandicappede med andreborgere” (parliamentary resolution concerning equalisation of opportunities for people with disabilities and non-disabled people). The parliamentary resolution lays down that Danish disability policy rests on a principle of equal opportunities for people with disabilities and non-disabled citizens. http://www.dch.dk

Many of the Danish State Forests offer facilities to enable access for travellers with disabilities. You find more information from the Danish Forest and Nature Agency’s website, which lists disability access in Danish.
A useful resource is God Adgang (Good Access), which lists Danish service providers, who have had their facilities registered under accessibility. You can search information about restaurants, conference facilities, exhibition and meeting venues or museums and indoor attractions.

Bus
You will find a manual wheelchair ramp by the middle doors in all Copenhagen city buses. As the access ramp is not automatic, assistance is needed when entering the bus.
