Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) – Ratified on August 1, 2008. It has not ratified the Optional Protocol to the CRPD. China has submitted its State Party report in the first cycle.
Constitution of the People’s Republic of China – The Constitution of China is the supreme law in the country. Article 45 states that citizens of the People’s Republic of China have the right to material assistance from the State and Society when they are old, ill or disabled.

China is a large and a diverse country so the accessibility also varies. Although in some parts of China one will find accessible infrastructure, a large part of it remains full of obstacles for people with disabilities. It is advised to plan beforehand. There are a few private tour operators and agencies which can assist in planning your accessible journey.
