As part of the National Disability Insurance Scheme’s (NDIS) implementation, the McGowan Government will introduce a new NDIS Job Matching Service to ensure skilled people are connected to the fastest growing sector in Western Australia.

Jobseekers interested in working in the disability sector will be connected with quality vocational education and training (VET) options. Following graduation, the job matching service will connect jobseekers to NDIS service providers.

Other services will include identifying courses and training opportunities for existing workers to improve skills and help employers access available incentives.

The State Government will continue to work closely with NDIS providers, the WA disability sector and the National Disability Insurance Agency to understand the real impact of these changes as they are implemented.

The tender to source suitable NDIS Job Matching Service providers will be released in February on Tenders WA.

In addition to the NDIS Job Matching Service, the State Government has recently implemented the lower fees, local skills initiative which sees TAFE fees for 34 high priority courses reduced by 50 per cent. Half price courses include the Certificate II in Introduction to Disability Care and the Certificate IV in Disability.
