Social taxi in Moscow helped 16000 children with disabilities

Accessible Taxi

More than sixty thousand children with disabilities have used social taxi service to reach necessary destinations.

Young passengers together with their accompanying persons use this service in order to go to the most important social facilities: hospitals, children centers, schools.

The drivers who work with passengers with disabilities are obliged to receive special training, thus they will always provide children and adults with first aid. All the cars are equipped with special equipment for lifting and transporting a wheelchair. Another advantage is that the service works seven days a week from 08:00 till 20:00. Moscow citizens can always order the taxi on Mosgortrans website or use a single telephone line.

“The social taxi service is an important and necessary service that helps passengers with disabilities to move around the city conveniently. Since the beginning of 2021, the service has transported 16 thousand children and their accompanying persons.”

“We always require high standards to our specialists. To work in the social taxi, our drivers have regular trainings. Moreover, we equip cars with handrails, wheelchair mounts, surveillance cameras and buttons to communicate with the driver. That is how our transport becomes accessible to every passenger” said Maksim Liksutov, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.
