Webinar on enhanced mobility of seniors and persons with disabilities

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is hosting series of listening sessions public transportation for seniors and persons with disabilities in rural communities throughout the state. 

The Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program (49 USC, Section 5310) is also known as the FTA §5310 Program. The program:

  • promotes the development and maintenance of a network of transportation services for seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the state, in partnership with local stakeholders
  • promotes public transportation projects that decrease the reliance of individuals with disabilities on ADA complementary paratransit services
  • provides technical assistance to improve the efficiency, effectiveness and safety of §5310 transit providers

The public is invited to provide input regarding local needs. Comments may be provided online, by email, or by mail by Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, as explained in the flyer. Comments can also be made by calling 512-585-3526 and leaving a voicemail message.

The public workshops provide an opportunity to gather input from a diverse group of local stakeholders and the public to assist TxDOT in making decisions regarding the Federal Funding for the 5310 Program and identify how we can best use our resources to serve the mobility needs of the community. The virtual public meeting will be conducted in English.
