The Community of Madrid has approved the renewal of 79 places for residential care for children with disabilities, which have protection measures.
The regional government invests 3,109,606.98 euros over the next year for specialized care for children and adolescents with disabilities in five residential centers.
Specifically, three contracts are extended to manage two centers that the APANID Association has in Getafe and another in Fuenlabrada. In total, there are 53 specific residential places for children who require specialized treatment, for which a total of 2,049,756 euros are allocated.
The service for the home residence management is renewed by Consulting Assistance Sociosanitario, for an amount of 715,984 euros, in the municipality of El Escorial. This center has 16 places for people under 18 with disabilities and great support needs.
Families for children with disabilities welcome children and adolescents with protection measures who need individualized and specialized attention and, therefore, require a residential resource prepared to offer them from the Community of Madrid.
In total, 160 children with disabilities were cared for in specialized residential resources during 2019.
