The Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation has approved the new clinical guidelines “Autism in Children”, according to the ministry’s press release.

New clinical guidelines for helping children with autism have been developed by Russian scientists, practicing psychiatrists, neurologists, and clinical psychologists with the participation of international experts.

Parents of children with autism, representatives of the Autism-Regions Association, and the Coming Out Foundation also took part in the development of the document.

“The project is based on the most modern world studies with a high level of evidence, which means that with its adoption, families of children with autism in every region of Russia will have the opportunity to receive quality assistance based on scientific knowledge”

The implementation of the new clinical guidelines on Autism in Children will become mandatory from 2022. However, medical institutions will begin to acquaint specialists with the new provisions and conduct educational events this year.
