The Civil Association for Equality and Justice (ACIJ) has launched discapacidadyderechos.org.ar, a website that aims to help people with disabilities to enforce their rights.
“In Argentina, people with disabilities face multiple barriers to access their fundamental rights, such as the right to health, education, work, independent life, and social protection, and are particularly affected by poverty and exclusion,” they remarked.
The Association held a series of meetings with people with disabilities, their families, civil society organizations and public authorities, to identify the main difficulties they face in exercising their rights and co-creating solutions to overcome them.
From these dialogues, the platform was born, centralizing information regarding rights, benefits, and services recognized by current regulations; the existing ways to claim in cases of non-compliance with social works, prepaid medicine companies, and the State; and places you can go for free legal advice and sponsorship.
The page has 120 document models (administrative notes and document letters, among others) so that people can adapt them to their situation. Also, it has a specific section that provides information on the rights of people with disabilities in the framework of the Covid-19 pandemic.
