The Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE) reaffirmed its commitment to work for the inclusion of all Paraguayans, especially, with people with vision disabilities, who with the new voting machines will be able to access the right to universal suffrage on their own, as announced by Daisy Llano, director of Electoral Services of the TSJE.v.

“All voting machines have an audio system to guide voter with vision disabilities in the voting process,” said Llano.

In the framework of the next municipal elections, the electoral organization prepares instructional videos on the use of voting machines aimed at people with vision disabilities, who through the technology chosen to make the implementation of electronic voting effective will have the possibility of making use of their right to vote on their own.

Llano remarked that although there is still no date for the next elections, it is of utmost importance that all citizens are familiar with the voting machines. That is why the electoral institution is committed to preparing the necessary training materials to guarantee electoral accessibility for people with disabilities, so that they can exercise the constitutional right to vote.

Upon arrival at the voting reception tables, people with vision disabilities will present their identity documents and after corroborating the voter data in the register, the table president will proceed to enable the machine to the assisted voting system, will place an acrylic on the screen and will give the person an earpiece, through which they will receive instructions on the steps to follow.
