The Coronavirus pandemic has again revealed the structural inequalities that leave persons with disabilities discriminated against and forgotten during disasters and outbreaks, highlighting an interim report to be launched digitally on June 24 2020.

A webinar and panel discussion will mark the launch. To attend this webinar, please register at https://bit.ly/3egyM37

The interim report exploring the lived experiences of persons with disabilities from the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic paints a stark picture. Persons with disabilities and other disadvantaged groups lose out most during times of crisis. The survey, along with emerging data, demonstrates that this crisis is no different.

The coronavirus pandemic has shed light on the long-standing structural inequality and discrimination that Deaf and Disabled people experience. From the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been discriminated against, forgotten, and in some cases, abandoned as policymakers have ignored our needs. Or, at best, considered them as an afterthought.
