Jordan launches online therapy initiative for persons with disabilities

The Jordan Ministry of Youth has launched the community-based youth initiative “Azad” for persons with disabilities, with the aim of providing occupational therapy and medical rehabilitation services remotely.

Azad is an electronic platform that was launched on social media and created by University of Jordan students, the ministry said on its Facebook platform.

The initiative provides counselling and treatment interventions within the specialty of occupational therapy through social media amid the current conditions brought on by the coronavirus, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.

The ministry noted that the initiative aims to provide therapeutic physical activities and free treatment consultations for families of persons with disabilities of all ages.
