Yarra City Council’s Universal Design and Disability Inclusion Policy guides all the work we do to ensure we are a more accessible and inclusive place for our community.
The Policy focuses on six key priority areas:
- Accessible places and transport – Create public spaces and facilities that are inclusive and connected
- Inclusive services, programs and information – ensuring everyone can access what Council offers
- Inclusive participation and employment – supporting involvement in community life and work
- Fairness and safety – promoting equitable treatment and safe environments
- Belonging and celebration – recognising and valuing diverse experiences
- Effective data and reporting outcomes – improving how we measure progress and accountability
