The Peruvian Government launched “Employment and People with Disabilities,” a website aimed at improving the employment of its citizens with disabilities.

The initiative, promoted by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (Undesa), also seeks to promote awareness of the contribution of people with disabilities to Peru’s economy.

Javier Palacios, head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), emphasized that the program shows the government is committed to the development of people with disabilities.

“We have the possibility of joining in these alliances and making a virtuous circle of offering quality and inclusive public services. That is the great contribution and that is why I congratulate all those who have made this effort possible and all those who are going to guarantee that this effort continues, ”said the minister.

On the other hand, the Minister for Women and Vulnerable Populations, Silvia Loli, emphasized that “it is necessary for this country to actually develop a work strategy that guarantees the right to equality for all people without discrimination of any kind,” Palacios said.
