Katie Price’s son Harvey creates clothing line to raise autism awareness

Katie Price, famous English model, author, designer, and businesswoman, has some competition in the fashion world from her own 18 year old son.

Harvey Price, who has Prader-Willi Syndrome, septo-optic dysplasia, autism, and a learning disability, has launched his own clothing line that includes basketball vests and shorts, t-shirts, jogging trousers, hoodies, and recycled messenger bags.

All items have Harvey’s frog logo on the front and feature messages on the back such as ‘I DON’T LIKE LOUD NOISE’, ‘AUTISM ARMY’, ‘BEE KIND’, and ‘I’M ANXIOUS’ in a attempt to spread awareness about autism.

Profits from sales will be divided equally between Harvey’s personal trust fund, the Anna Kennedy Online charity, and Born Anxious.

His mother said, “I am really happy for Harvey to release his own official range of clothing which celebrates his love of frogs and also a way of donating to Anna Kennedy’s charity and raise Autism awareness through the Born Anxious clothing label.”

The idea for the clothing line was born out of the sheer difficulty of finding clothing to fit Harvey after he recently tipped the scales at 28 stone (392 lbs).

Harvey has always struggled with his weight due to his long list of health issues, specifically the Prader-Willi Syndrome which causes a person to constantly eat because they never feel full.

He recently moved across the street from his mother, living independently for the first time and has been able to lose some weight; Katie thinks that’s due to moving into his own place where the cupboards aren’t constantly stocked.

Katie explained her son’s weight loss by saying, “I think he’s actually lost weight because when he’s in the actual household, I’ve said before, he’s quite disruptive in the night because he goes in the cupboards and eats the food – that’s his Prader-Willi Syndrome.

“But in that house, I don’t put anything in the cupboards that he can get, so he can’t have a snack in the night because there’s nothing there for him to snack on!  I think he has lost weight.”

The Harvey Price range can be purchased through the Born Anxious website www.bornanxious.co.uk.
