Russia hosting sports and tourism festival for people with disabilities

The Republic of Bashkortostan in Russia is hosting a festival of sports and tourism for people with disabilities – from July 20 to July 25 at Ufa River.

The following categories are included: sailing, sup-surfing, windsurfing, diving, freediving, water tourism, within the framework of the projects “Equal Opportunities Yachting” and “Sun Wind Water Man,”

The festival will take place in the water area of ​​the Pavlovsk reservoir, in the territory of the Zvezdny sports and recreation complex.

Teams from 14 regions of the Russian Federation (about 70 people), take part in the events. In a week, the participants will receive the necessary knowledge of the theory of sailing and acquire the skills to control a sailing catamaran, and participate in training races. Also, sup and windsurfing masterclasses will be held for the festival participants. The winners of the competition will take part in a one-day trip to sailing catamarans.

The organizers of the festival are the All-Russian Society and Disabled People, and the Russian Sports Union of Disabled People with the Presidential Grants Fund, as well as the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation for the federal project “Sport is the Norm of Life”. The purpose of the festival is to increase the availability of water tourism and sailing for people with disabilities.
