Governor Elsa Noguera began delivering humanitarian aid to families with persons with disabilities.

“We are delivering house to house to 4,487 families, hand in hand with my mayors and with Nini Cantillo, my high counselor for the care of the population in a condition of disability, my population”

The delivery also had the support of the nation’s first lady, María Juliana Ruiz and a donation from the Chinese Community of the Atlantic.

The governor highlighted the special case of a family in Malambo where five of its members have disabilities and that “of course even more difficulties are happening in this pandemic, but I want them to know that they are not alone, although they have not had it easy, it is a family full of love,” she said.

Deliveries began in Palmar de Varela and this past weekend continued in the municipalities of Luruaco, Candelaria, Repelón, Campo de la Cruz, Santa Lucía, Polonuevo and Manatí.

This week it will continue in Usiacurí, Piojo, Tubará and Juan de Acosta, for more than 4,000 grants. 487 of them from the Chinese Community.

“We are together with the Atlantic Government to show solidarity. We want to help people through difficult times,” said Yuming Weng, representative of the Chinese colony.

For her part, the high counselor for persons with disabilities, Nini Cantillo assured that these grants are delivered “in such a way that our disabled population knows that they are not alone. We are working for them and we want them to stay at home with their families.”
