At the end of August this year, the northern Russian city of Petrozavodsk will host a beauty contest “Inspiration”. The participants will be wheelchair users, reports the social network VKontakte. Representatives of of the whole North-West region can take part in it.
Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until August 15. The organiser of the beauty contest “Inspiration” is a charity foundation. Ten women will take part in the final stage of the competition. who will be selected from the submitted applications. In the qualifying round, girls and women aged 16 to 40 years will participate, moving independently in a wheelchair – both with manual and electric drive.
During the competition, participants will demonstrate their talents, will perform dances with partners, and will show their intellectual abilities.
The contestants will be helped in their preparation by scriptwriters, choreographers, photographers, stylists, makeup artists and hairdressers. The Foundation will cover the cost of transportation to the venue of the final competition, for non-resident participants.
“Thanks to the competition, participants will be able to show everyone that, wheelchair users can lead an active lifestyle, raise children, travel, engage in creative work and be an example for others, that women with disabilities can also be successful and have great life potential”, say the organizers of the event.
