A  Russian Presidential Decree from earlier this year  enters into force in July,  according to which the monthly payment to non-working able-bodied persons caring for a disabled child under the age of 18 or a disabled person from group I  will be 10 thousand rubles (160 USD).  For other persons caring for a disabled child under the age of 18, the amount of payments remained the same – 1.2 thousand rubles (20 USD).

It should be noted that the amount of monthly payments will be increased only by non-working able-bodied persons caring for a disabled child under the age of 18 or a disabled person from group I.

Earlier, we reported that raising payments for the care of disabled children and disabled children from childhood to 10 thousand rubles, Vladimir Putin, proposed in his address to the Federal Assembly on February 20. According to the president, such a measure would be additional support for families where the child needs special care.

The Minister of Labor and Social Policy of the Russian Federation, Maxim Topilin, said that 460 thousand people will be affected by the increase in benefits for the care of a child with a disability. The press service of the Ministry of Labor specified that the increase in payments is expected of parents of children under 18 with disabilities and adults with disabilities from childhood of  group I.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova said that guardians and adoptive parents who take care of a disabled child will be able to receive a monthly payment in an increased amount, just like parents.
