Kazan, Russia – From July 1, non-profit organizations in the Russian city of Kazan are provided with a free taxi for transportation of passengers with disabilities, Tatar-inform reports. The car can be ordered for trips of passengers with limited mobility to various events that are held by NGOs. In the future, it is planned to expand the car park and use them for inclusive tourism.
UNIT Specialized Taxi Service is a project that is implemented by the regional public organization of people with disability “Integration” at the expense of a presidential grant. With the allocated 2.5 million rubles the taxi will work until July 1 of 2020.
“Many non-profit organizations of Kazan hold events for people with disabilities, but the problem remains – how to get people there. We are going to share with all the special buses and provide an opportunity to transport people for free, ”said Pavel Kochkarev, project manager of the specialized taxi service UNIT.
