Russia –  The Pension Fund of Russia will launch a pilot project in certain regions of the Russian Federation on the automatic assignment of disability pensions and monthly cash payments, reports TASS, citing the head of the Pension Fund of Russia Anton Drozdov. In the future, this project is planned to extend to all regions of Russia.

Currently, a person with a disability or his legal representative must apply for a disability pension. To do this, he/she must submit an application in writing to the territorial body of the Pension Fund . He/she can also submit an application in electronic form on a single portal of public services or in the “Personal Citizen Account” on the website of the Pension Fund.

“In the near future we will conduct a pilot project on the proactive assignment of insurance and social disability pensions, as well as monthly cash payments to disabled people and children with disabilities, which will later be extended to all subjects of the Russian Federation,” said Anton Drozdov. The head of the Pension Fund also noted that at the present time an automatic assignment of a federal social supplement to the pension is already being made.

Thus, the automatic assignment of disability pensions will save people from having to apply for a pension. In the future, this project is planned to extend to all regions of Russia.
