Person with a disability dies in his wheelchair in Chile

wheelchair user

He had been seen hours before by neighbors, who transferred him to a tent that he used as a bedroom, the same place where he was later found lifeless in his chair.

Sitting in his wheelchair, a resident of Antofagasta died in homelessness, whose body was found on Friday in the middle of a public road in the regional capital.

The discovery took place in Talcahuano street, north central sector of the city, a place where, by order of the prosecution, personnel from the homicide squad of the PDI attended to investigate the circumstances of the death.

After the procedures carried out by the personnel, accompanied by experts from the Crime Laboratory, it was determined that it was a person with a motor disability who regularly slept on the street. Hours before his death he had been sighted by neighbors, who moved him to a tent that he used as a bedroom. It was in that same place where he was found dead.

After tests and the technical scientific work carried out by the detectives, the body was sent to the Legal Medical Service where the autopsy will be carried out, which will allow knowing the cause of death, ruling out in the first instance the participation of third parties in the death.

This is the second person who died in the middle of the public thoroughfare during the day, since on the same day an older adult died in the Transantofagasta minibus, while returning from picking up his medications.
